The jacket has the Lancaster illustrations from the Penguin paperback editions of these two novels on the front and rear panels. The first publication of these two early Powell novels in the United States was in 1952 by the Periscope Bookshop and the Holliday Bookshop, NYC, the unsold stock was taken over by Little Brown in 1963 after they became Powell's American publishers.
