A respectable binding copy. Previous owner was an 1892 graduate of the Albany Medical College. Recipe on the front endpaper is "To make old horses young or to put life into them." Materia medica is a Latin term for the body of collected knowledge about the therapeutic properties of any substance used for healing. Today this is called pharmacology.
