Light shelf wear to tips, corners and edges of book, no jacket, previous owner's stamps to the front and rear endpapers, else clean and unmarked. The "National Binding" a sturdy green and red titled cloth binding. Thumb indexed. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hard Cover. The Culinary Arts Institute can be traced back to an 1860's New York fashion magazine called the Delineator, through which the Butterick Co. sold their sewing patterns. Leonard Davidow, a cook book publisher, purchased the rights to the Delineator's cooking material. He formed the CAI to publish these recipes in cook books and other formats. Ruth Berolzheimer, the second female science graduate of the University of Chicago was hired as editor. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
