Elaborately decorated brown and gilt blind-stamped publisher's cloth, all edges gilt. 24mo, 5.25 in. One of Griswold's numerous poetry anthologies. First published in 1845 in Philadelphia. The passions are Ambition, Anger, Despair, Envy, Fear, Hate, Hope, Jealousy, Joy, Love, Melancholy, Pity, Pride, Revenge, Remorse, Scorn, and Sorrow. "..the selections constitute at least an agreeable poetical miscellany." The WorldCat locates only eight copies of this edition.
