First printing, no others stated. Hermann Zapf (1918 – 2015) was a German typeface designer and calligrapher who lived in Darmstadt, Germany. His career in type design spanned the three most recent stages of printing: hot metal composition, phototypesetting (also called cold type), and digital typesetting. His two most famous typefaces, Palatino and Optima, were designed in 1948 and 1952, respectively. Most items ship with tracking numbers and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible.
