The two volume in one edition of 1906. Originally published as two separate volumes in 1905. Spine barely legible, wear to tips, corners and edges of the book, some white staining to the covers, lower outside corners of the front endpapers torn-missing, short closed tear to lower edge of the title. Binding is sound. Blind stamped cloth, marbled page edges. Imprimatur of Rev. John M. Farley, Archbishop of New York. A monumental 740 page study of all manner of Catholic life and effort in America since Christopher Columbus, accounts of prominent clergy, of the various Roman Catholic immigrant groups, of social and fraternal organizations, plus approximately 218 pages of appendices. Books and other items ship promptly with a tracking number and (generally over $15.00) jacket protectors if applicable. Clean recycled packing material will be used when possible. The Book Shed has a been a member of the Vermont Antiquarian Bookseller's Association since 1997.
